Built by a dispatcher

Jim spent his career in transportation and transit safety. He wrote safety manuals that are still in use today, and he currently serves as a safety supervisor in public transit.

Years ago he ran his own dispatch desk. He grew it from one truck to ten by hand, at a flat 250 dollars a week, with phones and load boards, before stepping away for family.

Ten trucks is the published ceiling for one human dispatcher. OpenBook Dispatch is what he built when he came back: the same honest flat-rate service, with software doing the grunt work so the ceiling is gone.
